Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Dacula

There's no place like home for Dacula, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the North Oconee Titans on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Paisley Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooke McLemore and Tatiana Loera did most of the damage at the plate: McLemore got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one double, while Loera got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave McLemore a new career-high. Lianna Rodriguez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Dacula's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for North Oconee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Dacula and North Oconee should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Falcons will square off against Mountain View at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (36 vs. 160). Meanwhile, North Oconee (ranked 92nd) will meet Cedar Shoals (ranked 246th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
