The Master's Academy extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 12-8. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Community Christian Academy Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Joey Negron was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of The Master's Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 10-5 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Benjamin LaSelle, who went 3-for-4 with seven stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Hayden Digh was another key player, going 3-for-4 with six RBI and one double.
The Master's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
As for Community Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly ten runs.
On Community Christian Academy's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Norman, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another was Tucker Barbee, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
As of now, neither The Master's Academy nor Community Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
