Baseball Recap: Jarrell Comes Up Short

Jarrell fell victim to Salado and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Salado Eagles, falling 11-0. The Cougars have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Jarrell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Schwertner, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Jared Avena also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Jarrell's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Salado, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5-1 record this season.

While Jarrell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
