Basketball Game Preview: Niwot Cougars vs. Horizon Hawks

The Niwot Cougars will take on the Horizon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Niwot will be strutting in after a win while Horizon will be coming in after a loss.

Niwot is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Greeley West back in December of 2024. Niwot came out on top against Greeley West by a score of 58-48.

Niwot got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rohit Das out in front who posted 18 points and seven boards. Brooklyn Donohoe was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and three steals.

Niwot smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Horizon unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. 2025 welcomed they with a 73-52 loss courtesy of Regis Jesuit. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Hawks have suffered since December 13, 2023.

Niwot's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Horizon, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
