There's no place like home for Kimball, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Dassel-Cokato Chargers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cubs have posted against the Chargers since September 26, 2015.

Kimball had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-12.

Lexi Schindele paced Kimball's offense, picking up 15 kills. Schindele got some help from Hope Kuechle and her 24 assists. Kuechle was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

The win got Kimball back to even at 3-3. As for Dassel-Cokato, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Kimball and Dassel-Cokato will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Cubs are set to challenge their familiar foe Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Dassel-Cokato will take on rival Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
