Having struggled with four losses in a row, East Chicago Central turned things around against La Porte on Friday. They snuck past the Slicers with a 36-31 victory.

Meanwhile, Gary West Side hadn't done well against River Forest recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Gary West Side made off with a 29-28 win over River Forest. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

East Chicago Central's record is now 5-9. As for Gary West Side, their record now sits at 2-7.
