Softball Recap: Janelle Burchanowski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Clymer/Sherman over Chautauqua Lake

Clymer/Sherman lost against Chautauqua Lake last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wolves might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elli Bodamer put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Bodamer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Janelle Burchanowski, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Burchanowski has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Clymer/Sherman suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Chautauqua Lake, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.

Clymer/Sherman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-2 win against Frewsburg on the 10th. As for Chautauqua Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Maple Grove on the 10th.
