Baseball Game Preview: Coconino Panthers vs. Mingus Marauders

The Coconino Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Mingus Marauders at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Flagstaff hit Coconino with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Eagles, falling 8-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 24, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, Mingus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 10-3 to Prescott.

Silas Scott made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Mingus' defeat dropped their record down to 8-16-1. As for Coconino, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15-1.

Coconino suffered a grim 14-4 defeat to Mingus when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
