Volleyball Recap: Sarasota Christian Comes Up Short

Sarasota Christian came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bell Creek Academy Panthers, falling 3-0. The Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Sarasota Christian was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-23, 25-15.

Bell Creek Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lyla Hunt led the charge by getting 12 digs and one assist.

Sarasota Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Bell Creek Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. After both having extra time off, Sarasota Christian and Gulf Coast HEAT will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Blazers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bell Creek Academy, they will head out to challenge Cambridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
