Basketball Game Preview: Madison Bulldogs vs. Tri-Valley Mustangs

The Madison Bulldogs will take on the Tri-Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madison has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 13 straight losses, while Tri-Valley will come in with three straight wins.

Last Friday, Madison was beaten by Dakota Valley 68-24. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Panthers are ranked second).

Cambree Hunsley was Madison's leading scorer, having posted seven points. Ella Malone held things down on the boards with six rebounds. Jaya Engels took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Tri-Valley beat Lennox 42-36 on Thursday.

Tri-Valley's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.

Madison was dealt a bruising 56-28 loss at the hands of Tri-Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Madison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
