Basketball Recap: Rangeview Takes a Loss

Rangeview and Cherry Creek squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Rangeview had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cherry Creek Bruins, falling 50-25. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Despite the loss, Rangeview saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Devyn Davenport posted 11 points and six boards. Davenport is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Maddie Kilmer was another key player, putting up two points and seven rebounds.

Rangeview has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13 record this season. Cherry Creek pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Rangeview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cherry Creek, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 83-38 victory against Columbine on the 5th.
