Soccer Game Preview: La Vernia vs. Davenport

The La Vernia Bears will square off against the Davenport Wolves on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as La Vernia comes in on 21 and Davenport on six.

La Vernia is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Calallen. The result was nothing new for La Vernia, who have now won 20 contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Davenport kept a clean sheet against IDEA Riverview on Friday. They put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 8-0 win. Give Davenport's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

They hit IDEA Riverview with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Rylee Reisdorph (4), Abby Symon (3), and Logan Strong.

La Vernia's record is now 24-1. As for Davenport, their record now sits at 19-2-1.

La Vernia suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Davenport in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can La Vernia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
