Softball Game Preview: DeForest Norskies vs. Beaver Dam Golden Beavers

The DeForest Norskies will take on the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Beaver Dam took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on DeForest, who comes in off a win.

DeForest was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They skirted past Monona Grove 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Norskies as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Beaver Dam entered their contest against Waunakee on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Golden Beavers fell 5-2 to the Warriors. Golden Beavers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Warriors since on Tuesday.

Emma Julka put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Julka was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Julka wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mady Bryant, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Beaver Dam and nudges their season record down to 9-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for DeForest, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
