Basketball Recap: East Hampton Skates Past Portland with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely East Hampton's strategy against Portland on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the East Hampton Bellringers blew the Portland Highlanders out of the water with a 57-26 final score. With the Bellringers ahead 22-2 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Portland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Barr, who posted seven points and seven boards.

East Hampton moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Portland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-11.

East Hampton has already played their next contest (against Cromwell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Portland will look to defend their home court on Monday against Old Lyme at 6:00 p.m.
