Basketball Recap: Volunteer Comes Up Short

Volunteer played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 75-35 loss at the hands of the Tennessee Vikings. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-15.

Jasmine Jones was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-15 to rack up 18 points and eight boards for Tennessee. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in December of 2024. Katy Granger was another key player, shooting 83% from the field on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Volunteer has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-18 record this season. Tennessee's record is now 12-17.

Volunteer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tennessee, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-48 win against Greeneville on the 3rd.
