Softball Recap: Grace Has No Trouble Against Polytechnic

Grace got themselves on the board against Polytechnic on Friday, but Polytechnic never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 11-0. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Rosy Salazar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Maguire, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Addi Feola was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Grace hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory got Grace back to even at 8-8. As for Polytechnic, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Grace wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-6 defeat against St. Bonaventure on the 13th. As for Polytechnic, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-2 win against Chadwick on the 13th.
