Baseball Recap: Notre Dame (SO) Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

Notre Dame (SO) was forced to take a big loss against they on Wednesday, they got the better of them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Loyola Cubs, sneaking past 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Cubs on Wednesday, they had to take a 11-3 defeat.

AJ LaSota tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dominic Cadiz was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Phelan Bucknor, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Notre Dame (SO) pushed their record up to 13-13 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Loyola, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season.
