The biggest upset of the week belonged to Gaither, who took down 190th ranked Gaither, 19-17. Xavier Johnson in the win.
Chamberlain moved up to 204 from 233 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 7A District 7. The Chiefs were able to make move up by beating the Cowboys 19-17.
Deon Cain and Richard Benjamin gave Tampa Bay Tech a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Cain threw for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while Benjamin ran for 146 yards. Teammate Jamaruz Thompkins added to the ground attack by rushing for 104 yards.
Alex McGough provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Gaither fell to Chamberlain. He completed 14 passes for 158 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 15 yards. McGough's favorite target this week was Vu Le, who caught two passes for 49 yards.
Ryan Shea was the best wideout in the league this week as Wiregrass Ranch lost to Steinbrenner. Shea racked up four receptions for 69 yards. Elias Galvan Jr. helped Wiregrass Ranch's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback McGough of Jason Stokes' team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1204. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. On the ground, the Titans' Benjamin has rushed for 718 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Shea. The Wiregrass Ranch star has 17 catches for 366 yards.
The top two teams in 7A District 7 will face off this week when first place Tampa Bay Tech takes on second place Gaither. Last week, Tampa Bay Tech bested Freedom, while the Cowboys fell to DJ Mayo's team.
