Basketball Recap: Excel Christian Academy Falls to Calvary City Christian Academy in First Game of Season

Excel Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 42-32 to the Calvary City Christian Academy Lions on Thursday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adriel Concepcion, who posted nine points.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Excel Christian Academy will welcome Candlelight Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup will give the Spartans their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Calvary City Christian Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Champions Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 4.
