Basketball Recap: Lawndale Comes Up Short

Lawndale has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 70-50 to the Leuzinger Olympians on Friday. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 67-54 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leuzinger was led to victory by Aiden Mcintyre and Malachi Knight. Mcintyre went 8 of 11 en route to 18 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Knight went 7 for 16 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Mcintyre a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Joshua Garland, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Lawndale's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Leuzinger, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Lawndale has already played their next match, a 76-66 defeat against Santa Monica on the 22nd. As for Leuzinger, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-59 loss against Inglewood on the 22nd.
