Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Crusaders vs. Northwood Temple Academy Eagles

Trinity Christian is 10-0 against Northwood Temple Academy since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Trinity Christian Crusaders will be playing at home against the Northwood Temple Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Trinity Christian will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Trinity Christian is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Fayetteville Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Trinity Christian blew Fayetteville Christian out of the water with a 51-16 final score. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Crusaders this season.

Janiah McBryde was the offensive standout of the game as she went 5 of 9 en route to 16 points and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Goode, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points.

Trinity Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Northwood Temple Academy sidestepped Harrells Christian Academy for a 38-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Northwood Temple Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Trinity Christian against Northwood Temple Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 72-14 victory.
