Football Recap: Schuyler Gets the Win

Schuyler took a 33-point defeat the last time they faced off against Wayne, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors pulled ahead with a 23-22 photo finish over the Blue Devils on Friday. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Schuyler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Lara and Chris Ardeano. Ardeano has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last eight times he's played. Schuyler got some further help from Marcos Gomez: he made 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

When it comes to explaining why Wayne lost, don't look at Taven Ocampo. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards.

Schuyler's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Wayne, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Schuyler will venture away from home to face off against Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wayne, they will head out to take on Scotus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Shamrocks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
