Baseball Recap: St. Francis' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Francis won against Hart last Wednesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The St. Francis Golden Knights had just enough and edged out the Thousand Oaks Lancers 3-1. The Golden Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lancers, too.

Donovan Udell led a balanced Golden Knights bullpen and tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Lewallen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

The victory (which was St. Francis' third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Thousand Oaks, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis will be taking part in a tournament against Crespi at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The last six games St. Francis has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Thousand Oaks, they are taking a road trip to take on St. Bonaventure at 1:30 p.m. on March 1st.
