Baseball Game Preview: Glenn Bobcats vs. Birch Run Panthers

The Glenn Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Birch Run Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It was a proper cat-fight when Glenn took on Alma on Friday. The Bobcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Lakeville hit Birch Run with a seven-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Falcons, falling 13-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Glenn's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Birch Run, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Glenn took their victory against Birch Run in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-5 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
