Baseball Recap: Ambassador Christian School Gets the Win

Ambassador Christian School owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the First Baptist School Hurricanes.

Jacson Taplin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Ambassador Christian School is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-6-1 otherwise. Taplin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Stone Cherry was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Ambassador Christian School's win bumped their record up to 6-7-1. As for First Baptist School, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ambassador Christian School Lions take on Calvary Day School Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Baptist School, they will head out to challenge Lowcountry Leadership at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lowcountry Leadership has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.22 runs per game on average), something First Baptist School will no doubt try to take advantage of.
