Softball Recap: Vernon Vikings vs. Hackettstown Tigers
Vernon barely beat Hackettstown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Miranda Ebbighausen, who gave up just a hit and racked up 16 Ks to keep Hackettstown off the board.
On the hitting side, Vernon got a massive performance out of Elizabeth ?E? Peek, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Hanshaw, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
