Softball Game Preview: Forest Grove Vikings vs. Grants Pass Cavemen

The Forest Grove Vikings will face off against the Grants Pass Cavemen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Forest Grove's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Grants Pass' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Forest Grove is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: West Salem, who was ranked eighth at the time (Forest Grove was ranked 24th). The Vikings lost 9-3 to the Titans on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered since April 22nd.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grants Pass, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against Henley by a score of 8-4 on Thursday. The Cavemen haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

This is the second loss in a row for Forest Grove and nudges their season record down to 18-8. As for Grants Pass, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
