West Brook hit Sterling with a eight-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rangers came up short against the Bruins, falling 11-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rangers, who until this game were averaging 4.04 runs allowed.

Sterling got a good showing from David Benavides, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Benavides has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Sterling's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-10. As for West Brook, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9-1.
