Volleyball Recap: Streator Bulldogs vs. Wilmington Wildcats

Streator lost against Wilmington back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Streator Bulldogs fell just short of the Wilmington Wildcats by a score of 2-1. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 25-20 in the first set.

Streator started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Even though they lost, Streator was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Wilmington was led to victory by Addison Billingsley and Sami Liaromatis. Billingsley had 11 digs and ten assists, while Liaromatis had six digs and two aces.

Streator now has a losing record at 13-14-5. As for Wilmington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.

Streator does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilmington, they will venture away from home to challenge Evergreen Park at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wilmington is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
