Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ryan Carter and Corey Rockey Lead Willits to Victory

Willits won the last time they faced Lower Lake and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolverines came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 21-14.

A big part of Willits' win came down to the chemistry between Corey Rockey and his top target Ryan Carter. Rockey threw for 173 yards and one TD on only 16 passes while Carter picked up 137 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 137 receiving yards gave Carter a new career-high. Ricky Britton got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Willits' victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Lower Lake, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Willits will be playing at home against Clear Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lower Lake, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Upper Lake at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
