Basketball Game Preview: Arapahoe Warriors vs. Franklin Flyers

The Arapahoe Warriors will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Franklin Flyers at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Arapahoe is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Southwest on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Arapahoe might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Southwest an easy 58-33 win. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Despite the defeat, Arapahoe had strong showings from Eli Shafer, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards, and Konnor Shifflet, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Arapahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Franklin was beaten by Deshler 64-28 on Friday.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Everything came up roses for Arapahoe against Franklin in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, as the team secured a 70-29 victory. Does Arapahoe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Franklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
