Softball Recap: Western Albemarle Comes Up Short

Western Albemarle fell victim to Monticello and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 7-0 to the Mustangs. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Western Albemarle's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Monticello, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Western Albemarle will challenge rival Charlottesville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Monticello is set to take on their familiar foe Orange County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 1.3, the Fighting Hornets 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
