Volleyball Recap: Lytle Pirates vs. Dilley Wolves
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jourdanton, Lytle was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Dilley Wolves 3-2. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolves, too.
Lytle wouldn't go down easily and took Dilley into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 18-25, 24-26, 16-14.
Dilley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Arlette Lopez, who had four digs and 15 assists.
Lytle's victory bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Dilley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.
Lytle will face off against Crystal City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dilley, they will take on Cotulla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
