Volleyball Recap: Sidney Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Marly Coons and Ahniyah Wilson

Sidney lost against Indian Lake back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Yellowjackets fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 2-1. The loss put an end to the Yellowjackets' undefeated start to the season.

Sidney's loss came despite strong showings from Ahniyah Wilson and Marly Coons. Wilson had 15 digs and two aces, while Coons had nine assists and five digs. Wilson is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season.

Indian Lake's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addyson Roby led the charge by getting 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Roby has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Ross, who had 20 digs and three assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sidney fell to 2-1. As for Indian Lake, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Sidney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Troy on the 19th. As for Indian Lake, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Riverside on the 19th.
