Basketball Recap: Mooresville Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Mooresville was the 44-37 winner over Bloomington South when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mooresville Pioneers took a hard 52-34 fall against the Bloomington South Panthers on Thursday. The Pioneers were down 46-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Kendal Price and Randee Garringer certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Price posted eight points and three steals, while Garringer put up six points and five boards. Price has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Mooresville's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6. As for Bloomington South, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.

Mooresville will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Vernon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomington South, they will square off against Evansville Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Evansville Central has won seven straight at home, while Bloomington South won seven straight on the road dating back to last season), something that'll have to change.
