After losing to Eastern the last time they met, Ballard decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Ballard Bruins secured a 76-70 W over the Eastern Eagles on Friday. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Eagles are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Ballard and bumps their season record up to 17-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points over those games. As for Eastern, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-15.

Coming up, Ballard will head out to challenge Mercer County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Ballard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Eastern, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Eagles take on the Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Eastern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Shawnee likes a good challenge.
