It was a good run, but Sayre unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Frederick Douglass Broncos. The sweep was certainly out of character for the Spartans, seeing as the last time the team was held without a set was September 19th.

While Sayre was not able to put a set on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.

Sayre's defeat dropped their record down to 24-11. Frederick Douglass (22-6) has been on a roll lately: they've now won nine of their last 10 matches.

Sayre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frederick Douglass, they have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Scott County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
