Soccer Game Preview: Prospect Mountain vs. St. Thomas Aquinas

The Prospect Mountain Timberwolves will head out on the road to challenge the St. Thomas Aquinas Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Prospect Mountain's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Prospect Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: Kearsarge, who was ranked eighth at the time (Prospect Mountain was ranked 25th). The Timberwolves fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas entered their tilt with Gilford on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Golden Eagles a 2-0 shutout. That's two games straight that St. Thomas Aquinas have won by exactly two goals.

St. Thomas Aquinas' victory bumped their record up to 13-1-1. As for Prospect Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4-4.

Prospect Mountain came up short against St. Thomas Aquinas in their previous matchup back in September, falling 3-1. Can the Timberwolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
