Basketball Recap: Malachi Barnes Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Fresno

Sunnyside won the last time they faced Fresno and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sunnyside Wildcats came out on top against the Fresno Warriors by a score of 64-54. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Warriors are ranked 655th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sunnyside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Malachi Barnes, who posted 19 points. Barnes' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tanner Wilson was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Sunnyside's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Fresno, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Sunnyside has already played their next match (against Edison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Fresno has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Bullard.
