Softball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

Concord lost against Central Cabarrus back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spiders fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 4-3.

Alexa Hooks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Peighton Porter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Aagaard, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Central Cabarrus, their record is now 13-9.

As of now, neither Concord nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
