Soccer Game Preview: Dawson County vs. Monroe Area

The Dawson County Tigers will take on the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Dawson County sitting on four straight victories and Monroe Area on six.

Dawson County is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Harlem 3-2. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Dawson County were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Monroe Area kept a clean sheet against Islands on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Sharks 1-0. Give Monroe Area's defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Kayleigh Wells, who's now up to 55 this season.

Monroe Area's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Dawson County, their win bumped their record up to an identical 14-5.
