La Salle Academy's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past St. Mary Academy-Bay View 10-0. With that victory, the Rams brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.
St. Mary Academy-Bay View's batters probably weren't too happy with Hailey Vigneau, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 12 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Vigneau has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayleigh Ventura, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Elle Kershaw, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
La Salle Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary Academy-Bay View only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Ponaganset came up short against Pilgrim on Tuesday and fell 7-3. The Chieftains haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Maia Salvo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run.
La Salle Academy's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Ponaganset, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Everything went La Salle Academy's way against Ponaganset in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as La Salle Academy made off with a 17-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
