Preview: Honaker Tigers vs. Patrick Henry Rebels
The Honaker Tigers will be playing at home against the Patrick Henry Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Honaker will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
Honaker put the finishing touches on their 17th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Chilhowie 57-12 on the road. Given Honaker's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Chilhowie is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Honaker's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tailor Nolley, who scored 19 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Alayna McNulty, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Patrick Henry took a serious blow against Honaker on Thursday, falling 89-16. Patrick Henry has not had much luck with Honaker recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Honaker pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Patrick Henry, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
