Basketball Recap: Holland Christian Comes Up Short

Holland Christian was the 53-41 winner over Zeeland East when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Holland Christian Maroons were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 44-43 to the Zeeland East Chix. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Maroons came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Chix are ranked 125th).

Holland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Zeeland East, their win bumped their record up to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holland Christian will face off against Spring Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Zeeland East, they will challenge Cedar Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Springs will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Zeeland East surely won't give up without a fight.
