Baseball Recap: Maquoketa Takes a Loss

Maquoketa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Delaware Hawks. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 6-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in July of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Maquoketa's defeat dropped their record down to 6-25-1. As for West Delaware, they now have a winning record of 14-13.

Coming up, Maquoketa will face off against Center Point-Urbana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Stormin' Pointers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Delaware, they have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Mt. Vernon on the 3rd.
