Recap: Oakwood Panthers vs. Milford Bulldogs
It was a good run, but the Oakwood Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Milford. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oakwood in their matchups with Milford: they've now lost six in a row.
Oakwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rai'Miaya Winston, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Jacee Youngblood was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Oakwood's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bynum the next time they take the court. Milford will head out to face Bynum at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Oakwood will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
