Basketball Game Preview: DuSable Panthers vs. Orr Spartans

The DuSable Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Orr Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DuSable has given up an average of 51.5 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

DuSable came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by Julian and fell 94-43. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the defeat, DuSable saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tyshawn Burns posted 25 points. The game was Burns' third in a row with at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Christian Davis, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Orr took a blow against Crane Medical on Thursday, falling 62-31. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 592nd, while the Cougars are ranked 77th).

DuSable's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Orr, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

DuSable couldn't quite get it done against Orr in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 45-35. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
