Sonora extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Friday, bumping them up to 8-0. They blew past the Hughson Huskies, posting a 43-12 win. Considering the Wildcats have won five matchups by more than 30 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sonora had a senior duo take command as Cash Byington gained 200 total yards and two touchdowns and Eli Ingalls threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Byington also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending two passes. Rigo Estrella did his part by putting the 'special' in special teams, booting in three field goals and four extra points.
Sonora was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 253 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

As for Hughson, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.
Hughson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lawson Aviles, who picked up 118 receiving yards and one TD.
Sonora has already played their next contest, a 46-20 victory against Ripon on the 17th. As for Hughson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 38-13 win against Orestimba on the 17th.
