Madison barely beat Sharpstown the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Marlins blew past the Apollos, posting a 51-21 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Marlins sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Dontreal Fisher had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 284 receiving yards. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 75 yards. Juel Peterson also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.
Madison didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Byron Loving and Larry Carrington. Loving is also on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Julian McCullough was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks and making six total tackles.
Madison's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Sharpstown, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.
Coming up, Madison will take on Beaumont United at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sharpstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
