Basketball Recap: Midland Takes a Loss

Midland suffered their biggest defeat since November 21, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by the Lacassine Cardinals 81-40. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Cardinals are ranked 18th).

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Lacassine, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-2.

The future could be bright for both Midland and Lacassine: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Midland will try to hand Welsh their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Lacassine will look to extend Hathaway's 11-game losing streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
